How We Are Organized
The programs and research activities of ISUFI are organzied in thematic sections rather than classically-defined disciplines.
The school is currently divided into four Sections:
- Nanoscience & Grid Computing: Director Prof. Giovanni Aloisio
This section addresses the changes in technological innovations resulting from the interactions of information technology, nanotechnology and biology
- e-Business Management: Director Prof. Aldo Romano
This section meets the challenges inherent to the radical transformation of businesses practices in production, management, and organization with new information and communication technologies.
- Euromediterranean School of Law & Politics: Director Prof. Ernesto Sticchi Damiani
This section's goal is to create intellectual capital and resources for the development and management of institutional innovation within regional, national, and international public and private entities in the Euromediterranean area.
- Cultural Heritage: Knowledge and Valorization: Director Prof. Marcello Guaitoli
This section prepares professionals capable of utlizing knowledge and management of cultural heritage for strategic development.
These Sections represent areas where scientific and technological developments overlap. The Sections were formed naturally from the need to create a network that results in local, national and international strategic developments and includes businesses and other higher education and research institutions, cultural and government entities.
Each Section utilizes the following resources for research and programmatic activities:
- Laboratories belonging to the University and/or those used via contract, and/or collaboration agreements, both on and off-campus
- Professors and researchers from the University of Lecce
- Professors and researchers from other national and interantional universities and academic institutions (visiting professors)
- Professional experts from high-tech
- Contractors hired with project funds obtained through EU research competitions
